Overview

Nigall uses Stripe for Tools-plan subscriptions, which are paid to Nigall. Guest payments for tickets, registrations, booths, sponsorships, and stall fees are direct charges on the host’s account (Stripe Connect, or Razorpay Route in India). Nigall’s commission is taken at charge time. The processor pays the rest to the host. Nigall does not hold that money.

Prerequisites

  • Stripe API keys in environment
  • Webhook endpoint registered pointing to /payments/webhook/
  • Paid event or tier configured
  • Organizer account for fee tier lookup

Step-by-step — Attendee pays for registration

  1. Complete registration form.
  2. Redirect to /attendees/registrations/<pk>/payment/.
  3. Click pay → Stripe Checkout (registration_pay_stripe).
  4. Return to success URL → ticket issued.
  5. Webhook confirms Payment record with fee split.

Step-by-step — Organizer views revenue

  1. Open event orders: /attendees/events/<pk>/<tag>/orders/.
  2. Review payment status, platform fee, organizer payout.
  3. Cross-check /payments/my-payments/ for buyer history.

Currency Event currency follows the venue country (India INR, United States USD, and the other supported countries). It locks after the first paid order.
Host payout Paid checkout is refused until the host’s Stripe or Razorpay account can accept charges.
Refunds Hosts refund attendee orders from the order page. The refund runs on the connected account and returns Nigall’s commission.
Free events Skip Stripe; is_free=True

FAQs

Where to refund?
The host refunds the attendee order in Nigall. That refunds the charge on the host’s Stripe or Razorpay account.

Are processor fees included?
Nigall’s commission is separate from Stripe or Razorpay processing fees. Those fees come out of the host’s share. In India, UPI pricing follows Razorpay’s MDR.
